Tips for YouTube QR codes
Use your channel handle URL. The @handle URL format (youtube.com/@yourchannel) is shorter and cleaner than older channel ID URLs, producing a simpler QR pattern that scans faster.
Link to a specific video for campaigns. If you're running a product launch or promotion, link directly to the relevant video rather than your channel. Someone scanning at a trade show wants to see one specific thing, not your full library.
Add a "Subscribe" reminder. The QR code can't tell viewers to subscribe — use the frame text feature to add "Watch our story" or "Subscribe for tutorials" beneath the code.
Track with UTM parameters. Append ?utm_source=print&utm_medium=qr to your video URL before generating. YouTube Studio won't show QR scans natively, but your analytics platform will if you use a UTM-enabled link.
