What type of QR code should I use?

Static QR code (free): The URL or data is encoded directly into the image. Once generated, it works forever — even if you close this tab. No server involved. Perfect for printed materials, business cards, menus, and anything that doesn't need to change.

Recommendation: If you're printing, use static codes. They're free, private, and permanent.

What is QRLifetime?

QRLifetime is a free, browser-based QR code generator. You can create QR codes for URLs, WiFi networks, contact cards (vCard), email addresses, SMS messages, and plain text — all without creating an account. Every code is generated locally in your browser using JavaScript, so your data never leaves your device.

Unlike many QR code generators that lock your codes behind a subscription, QRLifetime generates static codes that are permanently embedded in the PNG or SVG file you download. There's no server-side dependency — your QR code will scan correctly in 2035 just as it does today.

How to create a QR code

  1. Select the type of QR code you want to create (URL, WiFi, vCard, etc.)
  2. Fill in your content — URL, network credentials, or contact details
  3. Customise the appearance: choose dot shapes, colors, add your logo or a frame
  4. Download as PNG (512 px to 2048 px) or SVG for print-ready vector quality
